so i've lost my voice. no fun. i cannot talk on the phone at all without people laughing at me =( it's all my sister's fault, she wore me out =P. anyhow, life continues as ever, with me dreading my upcoming accounting final. two weeks before sudden death. augh
on the plus side, it's ending soon, right?
everyone over here is under the impression that i'm engaged. not such a good thing since i have a crush on one of those guys. Why does everyone--including the stake presidency--think i'm engaged? Well, i'll tell you.
i was in church yesterday morning with everyone in my stake (a stake is a bunch of wards, wards are congregations) who stayed for Thanksgiving. One of my guy friends from last year gave one of the talks, so he was sitting up at the podium and we made faces at each other. during his talk, he spoke a little about his fiancee. At this point i suppose i should tell you guys that no one has ever met his fiancee because she goes to school in North Carolina. Anyhow, after he gave his talk he came and sat next to me for the next meeting. He found out that i had lost my voice and decided that he was going to make me soup. So there we were, just us two sitting near the front of the room where everyone saw us, speaking in whispers because i had lost my voice, and everyone automatically decided "oh, they're engaged."
after church was over, he had me wait for him while he went in for a quick interview with the stake presidency. i was sitting on a bench, with his stuff next to me, reading my scriptures while waiting for him to come out. During the interview one of the counselors came out and started talking to me. Here’s the conversation:
Counselor: How are you today young lady?
Me: I’m great, except as you can probably tell I’ve lost my voice.
C: Oh that’s too bad, I hope you feel better. I do wish you luck with finals though.
Me: Thanks =)
C: oh and there’s something else for you to prepare for as well, isn’t there?
Me: What do you mean?
C: Your wedding of course. Isn’t that your fiancĂ© in there?
Me: Oh nonononononononononononono. We’re just friends
Yeah, so if that wasn’t bad enough, my conversation with the stake R.S. president went like this:
RSP: What a wonderful young man. So are you the lovely fiancée?
Me: Nonononononononono we’re just friends, just friends.
so yes.... that was interesting... but it was okay because afterwards we went back to his apartment and he made me chicken noodle soup and pancakes. what a good friend =D it was kind of pathetic though; i was just sprawled out on his couch with his blanket over me, slowly dying while he was cooking. at least he didn't need to medicate me, right?
so yes, that's why everyone in the stake believes that i'm engaged. isn't that a lovely story? i even helped him address wedding invitations... incriminating, isn't it?
i hope everyone had a loverly thanksgiving. <-- hey, my fair lady, right?
